Our client, a top AmLaw firm, is seeking a Proposal and Pursuits Specialist to join their Business Development team.

Position Summary:
The Proposal and Pursuits Specialist will support the Proposal and Pursuits Manager in building out and maintaining re-envisioned strategies and processes for pitches, proposals and experience management. The Specialist will take significant ownership of proposal tracking, opportunity management, research and the league table process. The Specialist will support the Manager on major new business opportunities and play a key role in responding to more routine materials requests.
Essential Functions:
Pitch and Proposal Management
- Supports high-level proposal responses and assists in the production and delivery of high quality materials which are in line with brand guidelines; supported by Proposal and Pursuits Manager, develops ability to respond to routine pitch and proposal materials requests.
- Supports pursuits for major opportunities arising from both the established client service teams as well as the key clients of each business unit in conjunction with the relevant BD Managers.
- Maintains the firm's centralized system for tracking proposals and RFPs; manages regular tracking and reporting of win/loss statistics.
- Works with the Proposal and Pursuits Manager to maintain firm and practice group value propositions and ensure they are represented across all materials and platforms (website, pitches, marketing collateral).
- Works with the Proposal and Pursuits Manager to refine the firm's inventory of response materials describing the firm, specific legal practices, lawyer capabilities and client services.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with other departments that contribute to RFPs, such as pricing, risk management, IT and others; works with Proposal and Pursuits Manager and internal resources to develop and maintain a library of concise, up-to-date responses to standard RFP questions.
Experience Management
- Collaborates with the Marketing & BD team and other internal firm stakeholders on the development and implementation of a firm-wide experience management system.
- Supports Proposal and Pursuits Manager in development of matter experience style guidelines and data entry best practices for all business units.
- Identifies key matters each month and works with Knowledge Management and business unit representatives to draft matter descriptions and to consistently track, enter, and code new matters.
- Follows up in a diligent and organized fashion to ensure matters are approved for entry into the system.
Submissions
Manages league table submissions and project manages the announcement of results
Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience and Skills Required:
- 2 to 5 years of relevant pitch, proposal and matter management experience in a professional services environment.
- Superior organizational and project management skills.
- Strong work ethic, service orientation and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, attorneys, office and firm management, and outside business partners.
- Ability to work on multiple projects, to work overtime as required, to deal with stress around deadlines, and to set and enforce deadlines with lawyers and BD team.
- Proven organizational, and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to excel and maintain poise in a fluid and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong writing and editing skills; and experience working within defined style guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Expertise in InterAction or other CRM system and proposal generation and experience management software such as Foundation.
