The PROWD Lead at WorkSource Pierce plays a crucial role in supporting the mission of the Employment Security Department (ESD) by connecting employers and job seekers, particularly those transitioning from the Federal Prison system. This position involves overseeing department contracts and services, guiding and mentoring staff, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key responsibilities include developing customer-centered employment and training services, conducting individual interviews, facilitating workshops, and maintaining relationships with businesses and community partners. The role also requires performing records management, supporting a healthy work environment, and ensuring nondiscrimination and equity in all service delivery.

Some of your duties may include:

* Assist Supervisor in overseeing department contracts: Establish measurable goals, expectations, initiatives, and indicators in support of the agency mission, vision, and business goals, as well as the WorkSource system.

* Develop and provide comprehensive, customer-centered employment and training services: Support the Supervisor to coordinate and manage staff workloads, develop and sustain relationships with vendors and the community, and conduct individual interviews to articulate program services and activities.

* Perform records management functions: Monitor program and/or local contract performance using local and agency reporting systems, create and disseminate reports as required by supervisors and managers, and comply with state and federal basic career service protocols.

* Facilitate orientations and workshops: Conduct job search workshops, supply topic-specific information, related service and resource information, and facilitate job preparation activities to include job club services and workshops.

* Develop and maintain relationships with businesses, partners, and other service providers: Attend community meetings and events, communicate and work closely with internal and external partners, and coordinate resources with partners.

* Assess knowledge, skills, and abilities: Administer a variety of assessments and informal and formal career tools, review and explain results, and incorporate assessment results into employment plans in conjunction with relevant labor market information.

* Other duties as assigned: Participate in committees, leadership opportunities, and activities that promote Lean, Human Center Design, best practices, customer first, and new ideas; inventory improvements and strategic committees.

* One (1) year as a WorkSource Specialist 4 or equivalent class within the Employment Security Department, or another state's Employment Security agency.

OR

* A Bachelor's degree AND four (4) years of relevant experience* in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or public contact work, such as: unemployment insurance, social services, human resource services, education, public relations, benefits programs, insurance claims, law enforcement and banking.

OR

* A combination of education and/or relevant work experience in workforce development, social or human resource services, public relations, or public contact work such as: unemployment insurance, social services, human resource services, education, public relations, benefits programs, insurance claims, law enforcement and banking totaling eight (8) years.

Education to Experience Equivalences:

Associate Degree = 2 years | Bachelor Degree = 4 years | Masters or Higher = 5 years

* A Master's degree will substitute for one (1) year of required experience.

Desirable/Preferred Education, Experience or Certifications

* Lived experience; working within and/or supporting justice impacted populations.

* Financial Empowerment Knowledge: Incumbent will assist with guidance on budgeting, financial planning and accessing financial resources.

Additional Requirement of Employment:

* Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.

* Regular travel with a personal vehicle, multiple times weekly. Potential for out of state travel, paid, for National Conference(s).
