PART-TIME TAX CLERK
This is a part-time position not eligible for benefits.
Will work approximately 25 hours per week.
This position will be providing administration support on a variety of clerical, data entry and customer service relation duties. Independent work but under the supervision of the Tax Administration Supervisor, to assist in utility and tax payments, customer service and collections for the city of Bartlett.
Essential job functions include but are not limited to: Answering city telephones; verifying customer account information as requested; responding to billing questions and complaint; assist in maintaining permanent files and records and scanning documents; Applies water and tax payments to customer accounts in MUNIS software;
Provide backup support for employees at city reception desk; scans journals in MUNIS to provide necessary paperwork for payment documentation; receives department revenue sheets and enters into MUNIS software; Perform general office duties including filing of water and tax payment statements; Performs other related duties as assigned or required. May require cross training with other clerical positions in the Tax Administration department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures, knowledge and use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook programs. Must be capable of basic mathematical calculations accurately. High school diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years of clerical experience including data entry and record keeping or any combination of education, training and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential assigned job duties. Strong customer service and communication skills are necessary to deal tactfully with the general public and other office personnel. Must have reliable transportation to and from work. Must be available to work Monday through Friday on a flexible schedule during business hours to meet departmental needs. Must successfully pass a background check, driver's license check, and physical exam including a drug screen. Will work in a non-smoking work environment. Bartlett resident preferred, but not required.
