PT Maintenance Helper - Landscape - City of Palmdale California : Job Details

To perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled manual work in the construction and maintenance of buildings, parks, parkways, assessment districts, streets, and related facilities. This is a part-time position and does not include benefits, except where required by California law, such as mandated sick leave. This position is eligible to work up to 28 hours per week, and may not work more than 960 hours per fiscal year. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:This is the entry level class in the Maintenance Division of the Department of Public Works. Positions assigned to this class work under immediate supervision of higher-level maintenance personnel. Maintenance Helpers perform wide variety of routine unskilled to semi-skilled building, park, parkways, street, and assessment districts maintenance job functions. Generally, work is observed and reviewed during performance and upon completion, and changes in procedures or exceptions to rules are explained in detail as they arise.
