Looking for a sharp, driven professional to develop and execute public affairs campaigns on behalf of LiveSwitch Chairman Brian Hamilton. The role will encompass community relations, outreach, communications, social media and media relations. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication skills and will be a creative, strategic thinker. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with one to five years' work experience in a related field or role.

The person in this position will work directly with our chairman, entrepreneur Brian Hamilton, one of America's most successful entrepreneurs and a leading expert on entrepreneurship. He is known for his pioneering work in fintech, his advocacy for small businesses, and his commitment to criminal justice reform. Hamilton's work has been showcased by major media outlets like CNBC and Good Morning America, and he starred in ABC's Free Enterprise TV series, an award-winning show based on Inmates to Entrepreneurs.

Responsibilities:

  • Community engagement - Foster connections with local and national organizations. Book and manage meetings and speaking engagements.
  • Media relations - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets and journalists. Pitch compelling story angles to media outlets, securing media placements in top-tier publications, online platforms, and broadcast channels.
  • Content creation - Generate compelling content for various platforms, including social media and websites.
  • Digital marketing - Oversee the digital marketing strategy, including website optimization, email marketing, and social media campaigns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record (cumulative GPA of 3.7+)
  • 0-5 years of relevant work experience (internships count!)
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort meeting and exceeding individual goals such as daily outreach targets
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Demonstrated success in booking meetings and/or speaking engagements, securing media placements, or working in a startup environment are a plus
