Distinguishing Features of the Class The Preparedness Planning Specialist provides support for various programs within the Butte-Silver Bow Health Department. Performs emergency preparedness planning functions; plans activities; writes, reviews and updates emergency plans; assists in facilitating emergency response training and exercises for health department staff and community partners; assists in developing and distributing emergency preparedness materials; develops procedures for establishing a POD {Point of Dispensing); maintains inventory and all equipment needed for POD operations; delivers public presentations; reviews and updates department emergency response plan; coordinates and completes special assignments; performs other duties as assigned. Providing outreach and education to various community partners about communicable disease reporting and will also assist in disease investigations.
