- This is a second-level professional position responsible for planning, promoting, implementing, or evaluating a public health program, service, or grant; or implementing environmentally influenced public health laws and regulations.
- At this level, employees provide assistance and guidance to partners, contractors, and agencies involved in program implementation; and perform day-to-day program activities including conducting inspections and surveys, assisting in budget development, and participating in or leading public health events.
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- In addition to those identified in the previous level: Knowledge of individual and community health problems related to public health programs. Ability to work with considerable independence performing a wide range of duties to support the program.
Preferred qualifications/skills:
- This is a highly responsible position requiring the contracted employee to work with a broad range of partners and stakeholders with varying levels of knowledge and expertise.
- The contracted employee must have strong communication skills.
- The contracted employee must also be willing to work as a team with staff and other program managers.
- Proficiency in commonly used office computer programs is also required.
- The contracted employee should have experience developing training materials, including PowerPoints, handouts, and quizzes.
- The contracted employee must be able to accomplish program goals.
- The contracted employee will work with Statewide CHW Advisory Committee.
- Seek growth and development opportunities, and decide on special projects to pursue.
- Research, draft and submit grant deliverables and their associated measures.
- Assure timely preparation of federal reports, program updates, contracts and/or amendments to procure program services.
- Monitor contracts to assure deliverables are met.
- Background knowledge of chronic disease and recommended preventative care preferred.
- Experience working with community partners and coalitions preferred.
- Experience developing and strengthening internal and external partnerships.
