Nature of Work
Under general supervision, performs full performance level work in writing, editing, and producing or assisting in the production of a variety of educational, informational, and promotional multi-media materials, including brochures, flyers, videos, and more. Plans and participates in a variety of public-facing events, conferences, and trainings. Obtains story and feature materials through interviews. Develops and monitors long-term program objectives. Position is primarily responsible for marketing of Surplus Property unit, including social media (i.e. Facebook, LinkedIn), regular eblasts to customers, website content, etc. Develops ideas from inception to finished form. Experience with web design and content preferred. Experience in graphic design and layout (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premier, Photoshop, etc.) and photography required. Responsible for taking photographs using digital cameras to be used in printed materials and for internet web pages. Public speaking may be required. Ability to organize and present a variety of information and promotional materials in a clear, concise, and appealing format. Ability to communicate easily and clearly both orally and in writing, and to gather information by research, observation, or interview method. Performs related work as required. Excellent writing skills with regard to English grammar use and techniques of journalism is a must (writing samples and examples of graphic design should be submitted during the interview process). Coordinates activities with other units within the division and department and other entities in state government.

Minimum Qualifications
Training:Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited four year college or university with a major in communications, fine arts, journalism, graphic design, marketing, public relations, English or related field.
Substitution:Full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a field of public information dissemination may substitute for above training on a year-for-year basis.
Experience:One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in a public information dissemination field.
