Duties Description Under the general direction of the Director of Travel Trade Programs and in consultation with the Executive Director of Tourism, the incumbent will serve as the lead of I LOVE NY's Black travel program and provide support for the I LOVE NY international and domestic trade programs.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Responsible for creating a yearly strategic and activation plan for I LOVE NY's Black travel program with related budget and allocation plan to be proposed directly to the Division of Tourism Executive Director.
* Establishing and monitoring measurable annual KPI (key performance indicator) goals.
* Oversee execution of the program's strategies and tactics, including spearheading and approving all work products from contributing I LOVE NY teams, supervising and evaluating the work of program's retained consulting marketing agency; managing all budget, spending, and payment processes relating to the program; and prepare annual program reports for the Executive Director.
* Oversee and execute the Division's stateside familiarization tour program, including tour conceptualization, logistics planning, vendor budget and spending, communications with tour participants, local and regional partners, and I LOVE NY colleagues. Escort, meet, and speak to tours as needed.
* Outline, draft, proof, and review international press, media and social media activities.
* Assist with the development and monitoring of the international training website, including themes, content development and function.
* Oversee the Brand USA international market partnership and assist with the development and monitoring of additional international marketing and co-op campaigns, including partner communication, education, and asset/content development and approval.
* Attend trade shows and industry events on behalf of I LOVE NY and related programs, presenting as needed.
* Oversee elements of tradeshows and event activations including coordination with other ESD (Empire State Development) teams, vendors, exhibit design, staffing and operations.
* Assist with arranging and overseeing travel trade educational programs and events, presenting as needed.
* Maintain I LOVE NY international production calendar and tracker, assigning tasks to responsible parties, and tracking completion of various tasks.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications Promotion: one year of permanent competitive or non-competitive service as: Either A: Public Information Specialist 1,
OR, B: Graphic Designer 2, Multimedia Production Representative 1, Multimedia Production Program Specialist 1, or Photographer 4.
Open Competitive:
A bachelor's degree in media, new media, English, communications, journalism, broadcasting, public relations, films, TV productions, or digital marketing AND three years of experience in public or governmental relations, and/or in writing or producing content for various media;
* OR-
A master's degree in media, new media, English, communications, journalism, broadcasting, public relations, films, TV productions, and digital marketing AND two years of experience in public or governmental relations, and/or in writing or producing content for various media;
* OR-
seven years of the experience described above.
Additional Comments SALARY RANGE: $84,156 - $106,454
Note: The starting salary for candidates with no prior State service will be at the minimum hiring rate.
