Background check and Pre-employment physical required prior to start date.The Grounds Maintenance Worker is an hourly/non-exempt position, not requiring a CDL to perform a variety of duties involved in the daily operations of the Public Works Department. This position operates a variety of equipment for maintenance, repair, construction, and replacement of Town owned sidewalks, recreation paths, parks, buildings, grounds, playgrounds, sport facilities, cemetery system and streets.If hired into this position and the employee obtains a Colorado CDL B, and they meet all other job performance expectations, the employee may be promoted to a Maintenance Operator and move into Pay Grade 3. The CDL training and cost is supplied by the Town of Frisco. If you are applying and you have a Colorado CDL B or A, please apply for the Maintenance Operator posting.Pay Grade 2 (Maintenance Worker - non-CDL holder)Maintenance Worker hiring wage range = $21.50 - $26.40Maintenance Worker full wage range = $21.50 - $31.30Pay Grade 3 (Maintenance Operator - CDL holder)Maintenance Operator full wage range = $23.11 - $33.65 Responsibilities Operates Town equipment as directed by supervisor. This may include, but is not limited to motor grader, dumptruck, wheel loader, skid steer loader, street sweeper, municipal tractor, backhoe, pick-up truck, utility vehicle and other related heavy equipment.
  • Operates equipment and power tools related to landscape maintenance. Operates hand and power tools related to daily maintenance, repair, and construction.
  • Will handle basic daily maintenance of equipment.
  • During the winter, this position is responsible for snow removal and de-icing on all Town owned streets, sidewalks, recreation paths, parkinglots, and performs ice rink maintenance.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards. Responsible for the safety of self, others, materials and equipment.
  • Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
  • Provides preventative equipment maintenance inspections such as pre/post trips, checking fluids, etc. Reports any problems in a timely manner to the Fleet Supervisor and Vehicle Technicians.
  • May be required to supervise seasonal employees.
  • Performs multiple duties as it pertains to Town sponsored special events such as; set-up, tear down, trash & street sweeping.

  • Required: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Preferred: Additional coursework from a trade or technical school.
Computer Operations:
  • Preferred: Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, UKG and basic computer operations.
Licenses, Certifications or Accreditations:
  • Required: Valid Colorado Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Required: CPR, AED, First Aid Certification (provided by the Town)
Previous Work Experience:
  • Preferred: Three (3) years of experience operating motorized vehicles & equipment.
  • Preferred: Landscaping related experience.
  • Preferred: Snow removal related experience.
