Public Works/Wastewater - Wastewater Technician Trainee - City of Hampton, VA : Job Details

Function The purpose of the class is to serve in a trainee capacity to learn to perform a variety of technical duties in the operation and maintenance of the Citys inflow/infiltration program for the Department of Public Works Wastewater Division. The class works under close supervision according to set procedures. Minimum Qualifications. High school diploma or GED. Three (3) months of full-time equivalent experience in maintenance and repair of a variety of mechanical equipment or a closely related experience. Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operators license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hamptons criteria. Must possess and maintain a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Class B with an N-endorsement (Tanker Vehicle) within 180 days of employment.
