The Role
The Purchaser is responsible for following established procedures in ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, inventorying, and payment of items. In this role, you are responsible for identifying and communicating trends, costs and efficiencies and maintaining a clean, organizedsystem over all departments. The Purchaser collaborates with the finance team on invoicing and other financial matters including preparing reports on purchase orders and cost analyses, and evaluating potential vendors, suppliers and request quotes in collaboration with the Procurement team
Main Duties...
* Partner with the General Manager, Bar Manager and Head Chef in maintaining lower costs as well as controllable costs in all aspects of purchasing (e.g., Food, Beverage and Controllable) to ensure quality of product and profitability
* Adhere to local and regional health and safety compliance as well as sanitation standards as specified in Soho House guidelines
* Oversee and manage the coordination, execution, and overall functionality of the purchasing across all relevant departments while utilizing the purchasing system
* Will manage and oversee receiving team
* Confirm all invoice reconciliation on goods received against shipment to ensure quantity, quality, weights and purchase specifications are as ordered
* Partner with vendor(s) on delivery issues, returns and credits
* Manage inter-outlet transfers and maintain product guide within purchasing system
* Enforce proper safeguards are in effect for the security of perishable and nonperishable food and beverage stored items
* Responsible for conducting and maintaining walk-throughs on property to ensure that all areas are well maintained and preventative maintenance processes are in place.
* Complies with Federal and State laws applying to operations procedures.
* Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc. upon request
Required Skills/Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3+ years' transferable experience
* Proven experience managing vendors and negotiating rates
* Knowledge of local and regional sanitation and health safety compliance
* Must be highly organized, efficient and detail oriented
* Excel proficiency
* Experience in some form of Purchasing System(s) - Adaco preferred
Physical Requirements
* Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
* Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
* Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
* Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds.
* Must be able to kneel, bend, crouch and climb is required.
