Purchasing AgentLocation: 505 Sroufe St, Ligonier, IN 46767Responsible for making sure accurate amount of band product is on the shelves annually to enable DSI to process and fulfill orders daily.
Responsibilities - Purchase all inventory items, both domestic and international.
- Reviews sales orders, checks current inventory and gathers files to prepare the purchase orders.
- Create purchase orders and sales analysis for merchandise that will ship directly to the customer.
- Works with customers on customized orders.
- Verify that all information needed, i.e. color, size, or other attributes are included prior to creating the purchase order.
- Communicate with vendors to confirm purchase orders, price, and delivery information.
- Enters the information in E21. Serves as a conduit between sales and vendors.
- Expediting open orders by collecting outstanding invoices, managing and coordinating discrepancies on invoices and returns and acting as liaison between Sales, Marketing, and Accounting regarding Purchasing matters.
- Gets shipping and freight quotes for drop ship orders.
- Reconcile invoices to purchase orders as issues arise.
- Recognize problems associated with the product or how sales have entered the order so that the issue can be resolved, and steps added to eliminate the issue.
- Customer service to all internal customers.
- Assist in verifying that all purchasing related tasks are complete, so the sales order is complete and will bill the customer.
- Manages and creates web orders.
- Coordinates with vendors to improve procedures and policies.
Experience and Education- High School Diploma/GED
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an administrative support role
- Intermediate/Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, Word & Access
- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement, logistics, forecasting and material replenishment
- Exceptional communication and time management skills
- Proven ability to effectively manage projects and utilize analytical & creative thinking skills
- Proven ability to use discretion and judgment in planning purchases to optimize quick order turnaround
Physical Demands and/or Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.
