DescriptionPosition: Purchasing AgentFLSA: Non-Exempt/HourlyLocation: 2252 N. BroadwayMoore, Oklahoma 73160Hours: Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm (1 hour lunch)General Purpose: To compile information and records to prepare purchase orders.Supervision Received: Works under the Architecture & PurchasingManager.Supervision Exercised: NONEEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for verifying purchase order (P.O.) requests.Compiles records for items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries and inventories.Computes total cost of items purchased.Compares prices, specifications, and deliver dates.Verifies bill from suppliers with bids and purchase orders.Enters all new products and prices into database.Complies new database files for new products.Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedules.Ensures accuracy and efficiency; consult catalogs or contact vendors to obtain price availability information.Occasionally compose documents & letters and any other clerical duties.Responsible for keeping office area cleanAttend all staff meetingsMaintain confidentiality of office practicesPresent recommendations to Manager.Assists in other duties as directed.RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:1+ year work related experience preferably in the home building/construction industry.High school diploma (or GED)College degree is a plusMust pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.Must have reliable transportationKnowledge, Skills, and Ability:Knowledge of general office practicesKnowledge of purchasing methods.Ability to establish prioritiesAbility to work in a fast -paced environmentAbility to interact with variety of personalitiesAbility to work independentlyAbility to communicate professionallyGood time management skillsGood attendance and punctuality is mandatoryDemonstrate attention to detail and patienceStrong organizational skills; Strong data entry skillsWillingness to be a member of a dedicated teamMust have good people skills and professional appearance.Must be patient and understandingWork Environment: Temperature controlled office environment. The noise level is moderately quiet.Physical Demands: Often requires sitting for up to 8 hours per day and repetitive use of fingers for typing. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, and to stoop or kneel. Must be able to carry equipment up to 30 lbs.
