Purchasing Agent - Boise Cascade Company : Job Details

Primary Duty: The Purchasing Agent is responsible for developing and maintaining reliable and effective sources of materials and services at the lowest effective cost to the company. Reviews and processes requisitions, obtains quotes, conducts analysis of proposals, conducts negotiations, maintains knowledge of vendors; develops and implements blanket orders and contracts and monitors vendor quality. Essential Functions: Monitors past due receipts/invoices and payments; collects credits working closely with internal accounting department on invoice issues. Reviews requisitions for accuracy. Monitors reports following up on backorders, assessing that purchase orders are updated assuring goods are shipped and makes special arrangements for delivery. Work with warehouse manager to evaluate inventory levels for supplies adding new inventory and deleting obsolete items. Monitors flow and storage of materials within the storeroom.
