Position: Purchasing and Inventory Manager

Location: Syracuse, NY (Remote)

Pay: 100k/year

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management
  • Proven experience as a purchasing manager or in a similar role

Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Day Shift

Greene Resources is seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Manager to join a growing and dynamic team!

Job Description:

  • Review inventory and vendor lists across all locations to identify opportunities for consolidation and cost savings
  • Negotiate company-wide pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to leverage volume discounts
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent delivery and favorable terms
  • Collaborate with sales and production teams to ensure materials arrive on time
  • Regularly evaluate vendor performance based on key criteria like delivery times, product quality, and cost efficiency
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock
  • Track key performance metrics to assess purchasing and supply chain effectiveness
  • Implement Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory practices to minimize holding costs while avoiding stockouts
  • Continuously explore cost reduction opportunities through strategic purchasing and negotiations
  • Stay informed on commodity prices (e.g., steel) to secure the best possible rates for the company

Position Requirements:

  • Experience in make-to-order manufacturing and distribution is a plus
  • Proficiency in procurement software and supply chain procedures
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
