The right candidate would develop the ability to analyze logistics trends and apply business logic to scheduled reviews. Additional concentration would include some indirect purchasing and working with Planning team to execute purchasing and logistics of components required for on-time replenishment for all production lines at Hexarmor. The Purchasing and Logistics Specialist would report directly to the Purchasing Manager and work closely with the Planning team as well as the Warehouse and Production teams on a daily basis.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily operating within SAP Business One for shipment processing and production order creation
- Reporting and presenting excel spreadsheet work for purchasing/financial reviews
- Vlookups/ Index Matching
- Pivot tables
- Generating IF statements/formulas
- Reformatting of exports and importing into existing spreadsheets
- Work closely with both the Planners and Production management teams to schedule on-time deliveries and when necessary, expedite
- Develop understanding of HexArmor product and product lifecycle to apply sound judgement when communicating with external logistics providers
- Perform continuous analysis for improving department processes and procedures
- Create and execute transportation and logistics services related RFP's
- Quoting multiple freight forwarders to maximize freight value
- Willingness to assist as needed on any necessary reporting/ Supply Chain related tasks as they occur
- Develop network models, identifies inefficiencies and implements improvements to current logistics activities
- Internal point of contact for any indirect purchasing
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in Logistics, Purchasing, or Supply Chain
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Proven Excel experience in generating and editing multiple interconnected spreadsheets
- Solid decision making and problem-solving skills
- Critical attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly motivated and positive attitude
- Ability to excel in a fast pace work environment by setting priorities and handle multiple simultaneous requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in international freight forwarding is preferred
- SAP Knowledge is a plus
- Microsoft Teams and Zoom experience
