Purchasing Coordinator - Discovery Land Company : Job Details

This role will be designated for Discovery Land Company's building division: Discovery Builders, set in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Discovery Builders is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to join the Procurement Department. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for support Purchasing Agents and the Purchasing Manager with work related to procurement. This scope extends from the start of a project at time of buy-out, from ground-up construction materials through finish materials prior to close. The Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and organizing data in an easy to read format to help with decision making. This includes updating internal tracking tools from time of order until delivery, quotes from suppliers, data analysis and consolidation and invoice processing. Key Responsibilities

• Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions in order to track purchases and their estimated shipping times
• Interact with the suppliers on a day-to-day basis in order to determine shipment dates
• Match delivery receipts against purchase orders and manage variances with suppliers
• Notify Purchasing team of any discrepancies at the time of receipt
• Ensure received items are properly labeled to the appropriate project in the warehouse management system and on the shipping/package label prior to ship date
• Participate and communicate purchase order status with construction Project Managers on a bi-weekly basis
• Ensure that any invoices are sent to accounts for payment
• Produce and maintain all Purchase Order Logs
• Assist with load lists from the freight forwarders
• Arrange and attend meetings, taking minutes if necessary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, logistics, Supply Chain Management highly preferred.
• Microsoft Operating System and Office Applications; including strong Excel skills
• Self-motivated and pro-active
• Time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
• Managing Processes, improvements, and documentation
• Observant, analytical, inquisitive, and attentive
• Problem Solving
• Supply Chain and/or Warehouse management experience
• Inventory Control
