The Opportunity: As the Director of Purchasing at Story Built Homes, you will play a critical role in shaping the purchasing department from the ground up. Working closely with the CEO and Head of Construction, you will develop and implement procurement strategies that ensure the highest quality materials at the best possible prices. What You'll Do: Develop and establish the procurement department: Create processes and procedures that ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Build and maintain relationships with suppliers: Negotiate contracts and ensure the best value for the company. Collaborate with the CEO and Head of Construcion: Align procurement strategies with the company's goals and values.

Manage inventory levels: Ensure timely procurement of materials for ongoing projects.

Analyze market trends: Adjust procurement strategies accordingly. Implement essential software: Utilize Builder Trend Construction Management Software, QuickBooks, Zapier and Microsoft 365 to streamline purchasing operations.

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field: Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement and/or vendor relations: Preferably within the construction or real estate industry. Proven experience in building and managing procurement teams: Demonstrated ability to establish processes and lead strategic initiatives.

Strong negotiation skills: Proven track record of securing favorable terms and building lasting supplier relationships.
