Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPosition Purpose: The objective of the Purchasing Manager is to reduce company costs through maximizing department performance, optimizing cost savings and increasing total value. The Purchasing Manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, standardizing processes, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, and coordinating with departments regarding their supply needs. Further, it is the responsibility of this Manager to ensure the department operates efficiently in accordance with policies and procedures and internal controls.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Directly responsible for the day-to-day operation of purchasing and buyer.
- Creates and maintains monthly reporting, including cost savings, Food and Beverage cost control, departmental spending.
- Maintains inventory item master, bid lists and enters new items to items master. Updates bid prices on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, based on established procedures.
- Responsible for initiating and maintaining effective and professional relationships with suppliers, actual, and potential.
- Responsible for procuring at the lowest possible total end cost, considering the guidelines of prices, service, quality, and delivery.
- Responsible for informing ordering departments whenever the quantity or specifications of materials ordered are inconsistent with sound purchasing practices or market conditions.
- Reviews purchase requisitions for completeness and selects reliable sources, requests bids as necessary, evaluates quotations, and makes final supplier selection and processes purchase orders in compliance with purchasing department policy and procedures.
- Coordinates delivery of all materials with vendors and communicates any delivery issues with receiving, warehouse and ordering departments.
- Communicates supply issues and expected delivery dates with departments.
- Monitors and resolves price and quantity discrepancies with suppliers, warehouse team and accounting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
RequirementsEducation/Qualifications :
- Education bachelor's degree in business preferred but not required.
- Minimum 3 years Purchasing experience preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years management experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills: verbal, written, and technical presentations.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, production methods, supply chain management, and coordination of people and resources.
Licensing:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
Work Requirements: Shift: Mon-Fri | Days Requires problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively. Position involves prolonged walking, stooping, or bending, lifting, or carrying up to 50 pounds daily. Work is performed in a casino environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
