Pay $25.00 - $29.00 per hourThe job of Purchasing Manager was established for the purpose of planning, organizing and supervising the comprehensive purchasing functions for the Agency and its affiliates overseeing daily purchasing activities negotiating terms and conditions with vendors and/or service providers; and achieving department objectives and goals. This position is responsible to participate in interdepartmental team meetings, as well as meetings with external governmental organizations as necessary.Core Responsibilities
  • Directly supervises and oversees functions related to the day-to-day purchase of equipment, supplies and services for the all agencies and affiliate agencies for the purpose of ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Supervises assigned for the purpose of ensuring work assignments are complete and within department
  • Oversees required purchasing processes (i.e., purchase orders and requisitions for supplies, equipment, and services) for the purpose of acquiring necessary resources to support Agency operations.
  • Processes all purchases placed against agency credit card.
  • Compiles data from a wide variety of sources for the purpose of analyzing issues, ensuring compliance with a wide variety of purchasing policies and procedures, and/or monitoring purchasing
  • Maintains purchasing information, files and records (i.e., Requests for Proposal, purchase orders, vender files, ) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of documentation and compliance with established policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Processes purchasing-related information for the purpose of updating and distributing information, authorizing for action and/or complying with established accounting
  • Researches contracts, suppliers, equipment and regulations, including evaluation of new products for the purpose of analyzing information to determine product and/or service need and availability as
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of providing information, direction and/or appropriate
  • Serves as liaison with vendors for the purpose of monitoring and consolidation of orders for better management of
  • Works with maintenance and/or operations personnel to open new, expanded or remodeled facilities for the purpose of ensuring that furnishings, equipment, supplies, are in place in accordance with project scheduling.
  • Organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines working within prescribed time constraints.
  • Maintain positive relationships with consumers, families, community organizations, referral sources and governing/regulatory agencies.
  • Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the agency's culture, values and mission.
  • Ensure compliance with all pertinent government and agency regulations and operating standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department.
Qualifications
  • College degree in a business, finance and related field.
  • 3-5 years related purchasing experience.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Outlook, Word. EXCEL)
  • Valid NYS Drivers License.
