Purchase a variety of items, which require technical analysis and discretion, through either described or written purchasing procedures or formally negotiated contract techniques; performs purchasing clerk-type and purchasing management work as required. Responsible for maintaining a high level of user and trainer competency on computer-based systems and increasing the knowledge capability of end-users within the organization to meet the material and equipment needs of the business while protecting the physical assets within their area.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Approach all encounters with guests, management and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Control/oversee the ordering, receiving, inventory, storage and distribution of goods and equipment according to QBR standards.
  • Maintenance of purchasing, receiving and shipping procedures, and ensuring that these procedures are communicated to company management as appropriate.
  • Follow QBRC Purchasing Policies, which at a minimum, requires three bids for certain purchases, work with QIN/TERO to identify preferred Quinault and Native American sources for all purchases, purchase products of required quality and timeliness of delivery, and submit to Executive Director of Finance or CEO for approval.
  • Oversee receiving, shipping, storage and distribution of all hotel supplies and food and beverage products.
  • Coordinate and conduct with accounting prescribed inventories.
  • Implement necessary cost control measures.
  • Hire qualified staff as needed and maintain excellence of staff through proper training, evaluation and discipline.
  • Maintain Purchasing/Receiving and storage areas.
  • Effectively manage time.
  • Meets or exceeds productivity standards.
  • Receive all goods and distribute via requisition to the appropriate locations.
  • Ensure purchasing storage areas are secure at all times.
  • Match invoices against delivered goods, checking for correctness, quality and quantity, as well as weights as necessary.
  • Match packing slips with invoices and process as directed.
  • Assists with inventories and month end closing procedures.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date package log; deliver guest packages to the Concierge, storeroom and banquet areas as designated.
  • Professionally deal with difficult situations/people.
  • Meet multiple priorities of business demands.
  • Comply at all times with QBRC standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient resort operations.
  • Maintain clean and organized work and storage areas.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: (*Constantly, Frequently, Occasionally)While performing these job duties, the employee is regularly required to:
  • Ability to stand and sit for prolong periods of time; occasionally required to stoop, bend, and even crawl; Must be able to lift and or carry up to 50 pounds; Ability to pull or push large carts with goods that may weigh 100s of pounds.

  • BS in Business or Accounting with two years purchasing experience, or a High School Graduate or Equivalent with four years purchasing or procurement experience.
  • Basic Accounting knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, management, and other employees.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Computer literate with specific knowledge of excel.
  • Working knowledge of a computerized purchasing system.
  • Progressive positions of responsibility.
  • Minimum of one year previous supervisory experience.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Class III Washington State
  • Quinault Indian Nation Tribal Gaming License
