This position is an integral part of our procurement team and will be responsible for purchasing and managing a variety of construction materials and equipment, with a particular focus on electrical components. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry and will be able to effectively negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best prices and quality. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
• Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided.
• Process payments and invoices.
• Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
• Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.
• Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
• Maintain and update list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development.
• Use procurement software to track and manage all purchasing activities.
• Work closely with the project management team to understand and meet site needs.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the construction industry, including trends, technologies, products, and competitors.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a buyer of electrical components in the construction industry.
• Proficient in procurement software.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of supply chain management.
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain management will be considered an asset.
