This position is an integral part of our procurement team and will be responsible for purchasing and managing a variety of construction materials and equipment, with a particular focus on electrical components. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry and will be able to effectively negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best prices and quality. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality.
- Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided.
- Process payments and invoices.
- Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers.
- Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.
- Evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
- Maintain and update list of suppliers and their qualifications, delivery times, and potential future development.
- Use procurement software to track and manage all purchasing activities.
- Work closely with the project management team to understand and meet site needs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the construction industry, including trends, technologies, products, and competitors.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a buyer of electrical components in the construction industry.
- Proficient in procurement software.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of supply chain management.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in procurement or supply chain management will be considered an asset.
