Position Title: Purchasing SpecialistShift: 1stLocation: Lathrop, CASalary: $46,000/YearReports to: Plant ControllerPosition Summary:Responsible for all production (manufacturing) related purchasing of supplies. Sources and purchases parts. Manages the iMaintenance CMMS system. Maintains inventory records and other duties as assigned.SUMMARYPlace orders on a timely basis for purchases of materials and supplies. Maintain inventory or parts and supplies.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe & clean work area.
- Establish vendor files and inventory control records.
- Maintain price records and handle discrepancies as they arise.
- Research ways to reduce costs.
- Maintain parts inventories.
- Purchase parts and equipment in accordance to official policy.
- Maintain the iMaintenance system.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by management.

- Must be computer literate and capable of learning different software

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma / GED or higher preferred, but not required
- Clear, concise oral and written communication skills
Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:
- Two years' purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in the corrugated box industry
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Needs a solid understanding of both written & spoken English
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, manuals, and contracts. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Must be able to count & perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division)
