Job Location: Fenton, MO

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

Work environment: Onsite

ROEMHELD North America is a leading provider of clamping and handling solutions for precision machining, metal forming and other manufacturing applications serving automotive, aerospace, and other high technology industrial markets.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Purchasing Specialist II to join our team. This intermediate level position will make a significant contribution to our procurement strategy and operations, which supports our growth strategy and overall company success. The Purchasing Specialist II will be responsible for executing the day-to-day procurement process, including managing vendor relationships and communications with both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Purchase Order Processing and Management
  • Create purchase orders from requisitions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage changes to open purchase orders, coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Manage aged purchase orders and contact suppliers for status as needed.
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding lead times and pricing, updating orders and product information as needed.
  • Provide updated shipment information to internal Customer Service team as received from suppliers.

Other Responsibilities

  • Reconcile and post vendor invoices received against open purchase orders.
  • Allocate shipment and packaging costs across vendor invoices.
  • Reconcile order acknowledgments with purchase orders and enter delivery date information
  • Respond to customs broker inquiries regarding information on parts being shipped.
  • Track progress of shipped goods through freight broker portal.
  • Reconcile invoice totals for foreign currency invoices converted to USD to ensure accuracy of conversion rate data.
  • Using shipment data, create receiver documentation in ERP to be used by warehouse staff to compare to goods received.
  • Enter and edit parts information in ERP as needed.

Vendor and Inventory Management

  • Collaborate with internal teammates to analyze inventory levels to develop demand forecasts and identify procurement requirements, ensuring the timely availability of strategic products.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to identify new vendors and explore opportunities for cost savings and/or favorable terms and pricing, as well as ensuring supplier redundancy in the event of supply chain disruptions.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Evaluate vendor performance, address and communicate any issues promptly.

Supplemental Responsibilities

  • Function as secondary support role for other key responsibilities as needed, to support overall team objectives and provide coverage when and where needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills; ability to learn and use technology tools and applications.

  • Enjoys learning new tasks and exposure to responsibilities outside of those assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement/supply chain management role, with manufacturing or industrial industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working with foreign currency preferred.
  • Degree in a related field a plus, but not required.
