Long-term contract Client: Comerica Bank Job Title: Test Engineer (Quality Engineer/ Test Specialist) Duration: Long-term contract Work Type: hybrid - onsite 2 days a week $45 per hour on a W2 (no benefits) or $50 per hour on a 1099 Position Overview: We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer / Quality Assurance (QA) / Test Specialist to ensure the quality and reliability of our products through comprehensive testing and validation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing engineering, familiarity with Windows 11 (Win11) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and a proven track record in performing quality assurance activities. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure product quality and performance. Perform manual and automated testing across a range of platforms, including Windows 11 (Win11) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). Identify, document, and report defects, track them through resolution, and verify fixes. Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and ensure proper testing coverage. Participate in code reviews and provide feedback related to testability and quality. Analyze test results and provide detailed reports on product quality, stability, and performance. Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance product quality and team efficiency. Assist in troubleshooting and reproducing issues in different environments. Qualifications: 5years of experience in the Testing Engineer / Quality Assurance / Test Specialist role. Strong familiarity with Windows 11 (Win11) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems. Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks is a plus. Experience in manual testing, defect tracking, and reporting using industry-standard tools. Knowledge of software development life cycles and Agile methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Skills: Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar. Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Shell, or Bash.
