QA Lab Technician - Actalent : Job Details

Currently hiring a QA Lab Technician to support a Food Science Laboratory. An ideal candidate will have at least 3 months of Microbiology experience and a Bachelor of Science in Biology or Microbiology.

Shift: 5:30am to 6pm (2-2-3 schedule)

Responsibilities

+ Perform periodic in-process quality checks including physical and chemical lab testing, coding, weight, packaging integrity, labeling, temperature, sensory, document review, and data entry.

+ Inspect and sample incoming ingredients for internal lab testing as required.

+ Assist in drafting, revising, and maintaining plant standard operating procedures.

+ Participate in plant food safety/quality inspections, in-process inspections, mock recalls, label audits, and HACCP audits.

+ Verify proper set-up of production lines at start-up and shift changes including printer set-up, packaging materials, labeling, and quality limits.

+ Review the sanitary condition of production lines prior to start-up by verifying fillers sterilization limits, performing ATP tests, environmental swabs, and following up on sanitation procedures.

+ Communicate quality issues across departments and assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.

+ Perform investigative environmental swabbing of critical production equipment/areas as a troubleshooting guide.

+ Assist in investigations in response to customer concerns or quality-related deviations to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions.

+ Manage quality hold activities, including non-conforming product inventories.

+ Ensure lab equipment, refrigerators, and thermometers are properly maintained and calibrated.

+ Maintain and follow micro sample and shelf-life study programs.

+ Perform sample delivery to the Micro Lab and to other plants as required.

+ Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality is maintained.

+ Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately.
