Job FunctionReporting into the Multi-Site Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will be based out of Quincy Plant and will be responsible for ensuring that raw mineral products meet the company's quality standards and customer specifications. This entry-level role requires technical expertise to perform advanced inspections, testing, and process monitoring, as well as assist in equipment validations and quality system improvements. The Quality Technician will work closely with production and quality management teams to identify issues, implement solutions, and ensure regulatory compliance in a dynamic manufacturing environmentResponsibilities
  • Conduct advanced inspections and laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process, and finished products, including moisture analysis, particle size distribution, chemical composition, and density
  • Ensure all quality documentation and records are complete, accurate, and up-to-date
  • Develop and validate new testing methods to support product development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and audit production processes to ensure adherence to established quality and safety standards
  • Identify trends and potential quality risks, resolving as instructed by direct leader
  • Perform regular calibration and validation of laboratory and production equipment to ensure accurate performance and compliance with quality standards
  • Maintain detailed records of validation activities, including protocols, test results, and reports
  • Ensure equipment validation schedules are adhered to and support audits related to equipment compliance
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance procedures, work instructions, and inspection protocols
  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with ISO or other industry standards
  • Collaborate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) planning to address non-conformities and improve processes
  • Train production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices
  • Serve as a liaison between production and quality teams to ensure alignment on standards and goals
  • Act as a resource for troubleshooting quality issues and provide on-the-floor support during production challenges
Required Experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years in quality assurance or control, preferably in a raw minerals or manufacturing environment. Experience in equipment validation and calibration is a strong plus.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
Preferred Experience
  • Proficient in laboratory testing equipment and procedures
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with statistical process control (SPC)
  • Experience with equipment validation, calibration, and maintenance procedures
  • Knowledge of ISO or other quality standard
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management systems (QMS) software
