Identifies key areas in Cardiology where data collection and analysis would support quality improvement in clinical care.Develops and implements a process for the collection of short and long term outcome information for identified cardiac populations.Designs and implements formats for existing data collection.Utilizes nursing clinical knowledge in the review and abstraction of clinical data concerning a broad range of cardiac patient cohorts and clinical conditions.Interprets, documents, and displays data in an appropriate format (graphical, statistical, and/or written summary).Assists with development and monitoring of internally and externally published Cardiology performance metrics.Charts, tracks and reports selected measures.Works with other departments and support staff to resolve identified problems to improve processes and/or communication.Conducts special statistical studies on request. Compiles monthly and annual summary reports and pattern analyses summaries.Collaborates with Cardiology Research in protocols requiring longitudinal follow-up.Performs other duties as required or assigned.- BSN with 2 years of experience of clinical practice required.
- 1 year of health systems experience strongly desired.
- Masters degree preferred.
- Prior data extraction, collection and analysis experience required.
- High level of knowledge of computer technology, particularly MS Office, 4D, Access, and Oracle databases highly preferred.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, with experience in the concepts and applications of continuous quality improvement are essential.
- Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required.
