Job Title: Staff Engineer - Test Automation (Data/Python/AWS)

Location: Hybrid Onsite (Phoenix, San Francisco) – Locals only (DL required for proof)

Overview

Our client is seeking a Staff Engineer - Test Automation with expertise in Data, Python, and AWS to join their team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications while implementing enterprise test automation strategies with a focus on continuous integration and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to develop technical and domain expertise and solve testing challenges.
• Research, implement, and improve testing tools and processes to enhance product quality.
• Drive standardization and adoption of test automation technologies, ensuring scalability:
• Automation tools and techniques.
• Quality practices and processes (test strategy, test case management, CI/CD, defect management, release management).
• Participate in design, code, and test case reviews to improve test coverage and overall code quality.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end integration testing with appropriate test coverage.
• Analyze and monitor product quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support risk management and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 10+ years in software development or test automation frameworks using Java, Ruby, Node.js, or Objective-C (Java preferred).
• Hands-on experience with tools like GitLab, GIT, Eclipse/Android Studio/X-Code, Bamboo, Harness, Splunk, and AppDynamics.
• Expertise in test automation frameworks for API, web, or mobile platforms using tools like Appium, Selenium, WebDriver, Rest-Assured API, and Cucumber.
• AWS or cloud experience.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Must pass a background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise with:
• AWS Glue and Python.
• AWS Athena for cloud.
• Groovy for automation.
• Redshift, S3, DynamoDB.

Physical Requirements

• Work is primarily sedentary in a normal office environment.
• Requires extensive use of a computer with periods of sitting (~4 hours).
• Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching may be required.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally and negligible force frequently.
• Visual acuity and dexterity for handling documents and office equipment.
