Location: Villa Rica PlantShift: 6:50p-7a SwingPay Rate: $24.63 - $26.20Job DescriptionJOB OVERVIEW:The Quality Assurance 1 role is a medium skill role that will be responsible for keeping a close check on the quality of all wire products to ensure that the finished wire always meets Southwire and Laboratories specificationsGENERAL REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentMust have experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Must have knowledge/experience using SAP, Advaris, and ShopfloorMay be required to learn other software systems for this roleMust read, write, and speak English; Bilingual in Spanish is a plusMust be able to lift up to 45 lbsMust be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods of timePRIMARY JOB TASKS:Documents all test and production on required forms, tags, and computer systemsMonitor and record ro production data from iFix system to assign proper rod grade (CTON Rod Mill)Cuts samples for customers as required in customer specifications and indicated on product specificationsHold tags and QA samplesResponsible for inspecting and testing the wire during and after its production to make sure it meets industry standardsResponsible for keeping personnel informed if their products do not meet the specificationResponsible for issuing stop tags prohibiting certain wire from being used or sold if it fails to meet all industry standardsResponsible for completing machine checks on all assigned machine and for filling out all related reportsResponsible for keeping work area and equipment clean and in good conditionResponsible for checking to see that the correct PCS tags are used on the finished wireResponsible for passing tests once a month to ensure that the assistant understands basic testing procedures sufficiently and has kept abreast of all new techniques and proceduresPerform all other duties as assignedCROSS TRAINING:Will be required to cross-train on equipment within your identified workgroup at your facilityOnce trained in more complex jobs, may be required to fill the position in the event of absence or vacancyWill be required to rotate on a set frequency within your workgroup to maintain skill proficiencyQUALITY:Do not release products until all quality checks have been passedPerform quality checks, as outlined in the process procedures for the machine, and minor maintenance when necessaryImmediately report quality issues to the supervisor or quality managerUse the company's ISO Quality System documentation to help guide all daily quality activitiesSAFETY:Working safely is a condition of employmentResponsible to observe Southwire safety rules and maintain good housekeepingFollow all safety procedures and rulesProperly wear all required PPEReview and know all Job Hazard Analyses for proper job sequence and hazards associated with the jobs assigned to doReview and know all Safety Data Sheets for the jobs assigned to doMaintain all work areas to 5S standardsPerform pre-operation safety inspection and hazard analysisFollow all company environmental rules/procedures and handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impactPHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Must be able to work in hot and cold environments normally found in a prefabricated building without climate-controlPhysical activity associated with daily performance of this job include: balance, climbing, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, standing, stooping, walking and sittingBenefits We Offer:
