MANAGER, QUALITY ASSURANCE
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, with dotted lines to the Director of Quality Assurance, the QA Manager plans, coordinates, and directs quality programs designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates:
Duties and responsibilities
Provide guidance and instruction to the Quality Department and the overall operation to ensure that goals/requirements are achieved. Provide leadership, mentoring, coaching to the Quality Assurance team members.
Develop quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identify critical control points and preventive measures; establish critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures.
Daily review of all process controls records to ensure that internal compliance measures and customer requirements are being met. Ongoing communications with employees are peers on all quality issues.
Daily review of all spoilage collections assigning various types to proper source. Develop, maintain and improve a spoilage control program.
Process and maintain accurate customer claim records, supplier and mill claims in relevant databases.
Work with the Company Technology, Customers and/or the Sales department to resolve quality questions and quality issues.
Analyze data and provide recommendations for continuous improvement (product quality, spoilage reduction, etc.). Lead and or participate on Corrective Action Teams (CAT teams) as necessary.
Provide quality system training to the plant personnel as necessary (SPC, Food Safety Plans, Problem Solving Tools, Quality Systems, etc.)
Updates job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in education opportunities; reading professional publications maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Participate and promote plant safety activities.
Generate monthly reports detailing quality activities at the plant
Generate and distribute the plant KPIs report on a monthly basis.

A thorough understanding of common quality and problem solving tools including Statistical analysis, Pareto charts, Gauge R&R, PFMEA, Process Capability, and Histograms.
A thorough understanding of Continuous Improvement and Lean Six Sigma principles.
A thorough understanding of equipment engineering/installation/modification concepts.
Experience with computer software: WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT,and Windows.
Strong knowledge of investigations, problem solving and corrective action implementation.
Ability to lead and manage all aspects of quality control process.
Must have process improvement and strategic planning skills.
Ability to be observant and analytical, strong focus and attention to detail, thoroughness and dealing with complexity.

Analytical skills must be highly developed with an ability to objectively evaluate data and perform statistical analysis.
Excellent technical writing skills required to provide reports to create, maintain and update numerous written documents outlining and detailing all planned goals, protocols, procedures, processes, solutions and results related to implementation and monitoring of quality assurance measures.
Complete multiple projects with deadlines while performing regularly assigned duties.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Preferably in the Sciences, Engineering, Quality or Project Management.
Minimum five (5) years hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment with proven Quality Management System oversight capability.
Experience supervising subordinates highly preferred.
Proficient in Office 365, (Excel Word, Access and Power Point).
Excellent grasp and understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control). Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or strong ISO background a plus. Basic understanding of HACCP and GMPs.
Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
