Quality Assurance Measurement Specialist - Leonhardt Manufacturing Co. : Job Details

Position Summary: The Quality Engineer/Measurement Specialist will be responsible for running and programming the CMM and Romer Arm equipment to verify production and prototype parts to print dimensions and to verify production and quality fixtures to print dimensions. The QE/MS will develop, implement and conduct quality control programs and procedures to ensure product and material quality. • • Runs and programs the CMM/Romer Arm for part and fixture verifications, including the ability to establish and control/measure parts via the print datums
  • Measures parts and fixtures using shop floor and QC devices/tools
  • Works closely with Engineering during initial part and fixture development for new business and normal production calibrations
  • Establishes and maintains quality systems with AIAG PPAP and APQP processes
  • Generates part layouts and dimensional reports

• Leads Corrective Action (8D) teams to identify and correct day-to-day and long-term production, quality and plant issues
• Leads internal audits as required by ISO 9001:2015 standards
• Develops production, quality, plant work instructions and training instructions to appropriate production and management employees
• Reviews, collects and analyzes production, quality and plant metrics/data to identify areas to make improvements and lead/work with continuous improvement teams to implement improvements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience running and programming CMM/Romer Arm for part and fixture verifications (CMM/Romer Arm certification preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of GD&T principles (training certification preferred)
• Proficient with the use of micrometers, height gage, calipers, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Training and competency in AIAG PPAP/APQP
• Experience in driving improvement through problem-solving methodologies such as 8D Corrective Action
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015
• ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor certification
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required and customer and supplier interface ability is required
• Must have a cooperative, team-first attitude and the flexibility and willingness to do whatever is needed
• Proficient in business software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Education:

• 5 to 7 years' experience in Quality Assurance, Engineering or Design/Development in a manufacturing environment

• Quality Engineer Certification (preferred)

Environment:

• Office and manufacturing environments
