Purpose of Position: This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Quality Assurance at the Port Camden facility. This position requires working on afternoon / night shifts, long hours and some weekends. Tuesday-Saturday Shift**** Accountabilities:
- Provides guidance to the production floor and QA techs by performing routine walkthroughs and audits of both personnel and processes. Enforces adherence to Primus, FDA, FSMA, USDA regulations.
- Ensures HACCP, FSMA, federal, local, and company rules and regulations are adhered to throughout the facility.
- Perform/oversee quality inspections and product temperature checks for all products arriving to the port.
- Supervise quality control inspection requirements at the facility. Ensure that Del Monte quality standards are maintained at all times.
- Generate and distribute quality reports in a timely and accurate manner
- Perform/oversee daily re-inspections of warehouse products.
- Maintains the allergen program, through production scheduling and separation, which satisfies USDA, FDA, FSMA, and Primus requirements, without a formal allergen room.
- Production software (Produce Pro) key user and trainer for the Facility.
- Ensures compliance of DM procedures, emergency action plan, sanitation plan, recall plan, GMPs, and other related food safety and quality programs.
- Maintains a specific QA program for the facility, including equipment calibrations, document review, verification, training, and direct observations.
- Maintains compliance with product specifications and special handling procedures for USDA and FDA products.
- Collects quality information to generate reports in order to keep the appropriate performance of the QA department. Micro results are shared with appropriate parties through electronic or physical records.
- Maintains open communication with all Managers and Corporate QA about findings and potential issues, to ensure that DM products quality is maintained at all times.
- Helps develop new methodologies by providing solutions to quality issues, food safety, reviewing shelf life, labels, and auditing processes on the inspection room and coolers.
- Assists with the implementation and review of quality assurance procedures.
- Actively participates in department audits and conducts corrective actions for any findings.
Minimum Skills Required:
- 1 to 2 years previous work experience in fresh cut or produce operations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Good communication skills (i.e. written and verbal).
- Ability to multi-task.
- Training on GMPs and food safety.
- Proven working experience as a Quality Supervisor/Quality Technician
- Ability to train others (QC Technicians and Inspectors)
- Experience in collecting and analyzing data
- Ability to lift 40lb boxes of produce.
- Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) to work on the Port facility.
