Job Overview
The Quality Auditor position is an entry-level quality position, which provides inspection and quality support directly to the production lines.
A Quality Auditor ensures that standards of excellence are maintained during the production of components or assembled product. Quality auditors perform inspections at all stages of production, including reviews of raw materials, manufactured components and finished products. Quality Auditors address a product's physical appearance, functionality and composition. Duties also include assessing the procedures that make up the production through process audits. Auditors write assessments and report the number of accepted and rejected products. This information (along with recommendations for fixing defects) are building blocks of the departments quality metrics, which are presented to production leadership.
Highlights of your role
General and Task Management
* Monitors in-process calibration requirements for key fabrication processes.
* Monitors in-process go-no-go gauge measurements.
* Monitors run chart data for designated equipment.
* Performs cart audits and documents performance.
* Conduct product and sill pond audits.
* Conducts and documents short term audits of product and processes that have failure modes to determine frequency or severity of quality performance issues.
* Conducts process audits and compares to SWP.
* Completes First Article inspections after equipment change or adjustment.
* Accesses Marvin Docs to obtain and read print specifications or notes.
* Assists with controlling non-conformance components by utilizing the MRR process.
* Understands and references appropriate defect tolerances for Wood, Metal, Glass and Coatings.
* Able to utilize appropriate measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, gloss meter, digital protractors, dial indicators, linear scales, weight scales, pin gauges, feeler gauges, etc) needed during audits.
People Management
* Train employees according to component and product specifications and processes.
* Provide communication and guidance based on audit findings in startup meetings.
* One on one feedback to employees based on process audits.
* Trains employees regarding Quality/Process Alerts.
Relationship Management
* Support regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving quality.
* Communicate efficiently throughout the shop floor and with management.
* Mediate and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and other service providers.

* Efficiently utilizes time with minimal supervision.
* Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
* Assertive, resilient and welcomes change.
* Engages interest and participation of others and has a collaborative approach to working with others.
* Is self-aware and shows moral courage, openness, and honesty in all dealings.

* High School degree
* Experience in a manufacturing environment or prior quality experience
