SK pharmteco is a custom manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs, Drug Substances) and registered intermediates for customers in the pharmaceutical industry. Our integrated U.S. facilities specialize in process development, scale-up, and cGMP compliant production from kilograms to multi-ton quantities. We are looking for Chemists to join our Quality Control team in Rancho Cordova, CA (greater Sacramento area). This position is on site (no remote work). We are a 24/7/365 chemical manufacturing facility, so the candidate needs to be open to any shift (day, swing or graveyard, weekend and holiday coverage).

The Quality Control Chemist I will be responsible for analyzing and making determinations as to the quality of a product, using analytical equipment pertinent to the appropriate application of skills. This position provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work is closely supervised.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Analysis of bulk chemicals, pharmaceutical compounds, and environmental monitoring samples which require a comprehensive knowledge of chemistry or microbiology and laboratory techniques.

* General housekeeping including maintaining general cleanliness of laboratories and restocking reagents and laboratory consumables.

* May conduct review of peer data from less complex analysis.

* Maintain a through and neat laboratory notebook.

* Compilation of data obtained from analytical tests, analysis of the data, and reporting of results to appropriate departments.

* May be responsible for communicating status and timing of analytical testing to internal clients.

* May participate in investigations of laboratory samples and help determine appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address mitigation of investigation assignable cause.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* Bachelors degree in Chemistry or related field required.

* 0-1 years directly related technical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPETENCIES/SKILLS

* Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

* Must have a high consciousness for personal and laboratory safety.

* Strong attention to detail.

* Team oriented.

* Good judgement and an understanding of chemistry theories and concepts.
