Quality Control Clerk - Mariani Nut Company : Job Details

Description**SEASONAL POSITION ONLY, MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ROTATING SHIFTS 6am-6pm, 6pm-6am. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ensures nuts being sized meet customer specifications and that Food Safety objectives are being met in accordance with company policiesInspects machines and work area prior to day shift and at end of shift to ensure that area is in clean and working order and completes status form documentationConducts control testing of walnuts and almonds and fills out Processing Forms in a legible and timely manner to be submitted to the Quality Control SupervisorCommunicate with forklift drivers, machine operators, and general labor whom work at the machineGenerates and places License Plates (LPs) and pallet labels on bins or pallets for completed ordersCompletes the Weekly Equipment Sanitation Checklist and Pallet and Bin Check LogMaintains work area in proper sanitation condition during work day and at shift dayComplies with GMP's, SOP's, OSHA, SDS standards and Company Safety ProceduresWears proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the different tasks assignedOther duties as assignedBENEFITSAfter a successful completion of work related evaluations all permanent employees of Mariani Nut Company receive a robust benefit package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, annual vacation (5 days), annual sick leave (4 days), participation in our 401K (after 1 year of service) and access to on-site gym.RequirementsPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands, fingers, and arms to grasp, handle and feel product throughout the workdayEmployee will be frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, crouch, and/ or crawl, and climb up and down stairs throughout the workdayMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday Must be able to work with food grade soaps and alcoholMust be able to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends and holidaysRequisite Skills/Qualifications Read and write in native language (English, Spanish) Understands basic mathematical equations and has basic computer skills
