Job Title: Document Control/Construction Quality Control Coordinator
Location: Project Based in Epes, Alabama
Pay Range: Based on Experience + Per diem
FLSA Status: Exempt, No OT
Additional Compensation: Role eligible for project Completion Bonus
Project Duration: ASAP- June/July 2025
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all quality construction activities, utilizing field-testing procedures and equipment to conduct inspections.
- Perform required field, civil/structural, mechanical, and electrical inspections and testing per project plans and specifications.
- Prepare Daily Field Reports (DFRs) and communicate deficiencies observed to project managers, program managers, construction managers, contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Interpret project-related drawings and documents to verify accuracy in execution.
- Ensure safety rules and procedures are consistently followed.
Quality Assurance & Inspections:
- Review construction contractor's Quality Management Plan (QMP) at project initiation to verify compliance with project and regulatory quality requirements.
- Maintain QA/QC records for the project and/or contracts.
- Inspect civil elements such as concrete, asphalt, anchor bolts, and grouting to contract specifications.
- Inspect steel reinforcement and formwork on beams, columns, footings, and utilities.
- Inspect welding, bolting, silos, and chutes to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Develop and maintain an understanding of company quality control programs, standards, procedures, and codes.
Electrical Inspection:
- Inspect and verify electrical installations, including high-voltage systems, conduit routing, cable trays, grounding, and terminations.
- Ensure proper installation of electrical panels, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
- Perform electrical sign-off on completed work, ensuring adherence to industry codes and best practices.
- Conduct continuity and insulation resistance testing on electrical components.
- Verify contractor compliance with electrical safety regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining performance records, inspection reports, and documentation.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of quality control procedures, including inspection instructions and testing protocols.
- Coordinate QC inspection schedules with other departments.
- Participate in internal and external quality control audits.
- Review purchase documents to verify compliance with quality control requirements.
- Perform additional assignments as directed to ensure project success.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years or more years of experience in support of design-build construction testing, inspection, supervision, or management in support of large greenfield projects.
- EPC experience preferred.
- Must have background and experience in Electrical Discipline
- An understanding and experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance (preferred)
- Highly proficient in computer skills and in MS Office suite
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in heat, rain, and cold. Able to work weekends and evenings as required by the project schedule.
- Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 °F and below 32 °F.
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment.
- Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment.
- Able to easily navigate on foot an operating construction site daily, including climbing stairs and scaffolding, walking through uneven and rough terrain, and entering confined spaces (as necessary).
- Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day.
- Willing and able to work around moving equipment and machinery.
- Willing and able to pull and lift, up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Must be able to transition between office, meetings, and onsite outdoor work.
