Title: Quality Control Associate

The role is open to cover for a long term leave ofabsence. If the person does not return, there is potential for extension/possible temp to perm.

MUST HAVE CHEMISTY BACKGROUND - will be working in achemistry lab

Open to recent grads - up to 5 years experience

Hours: 8am-5pm (site has flexibly and different shifts.the preference is an early shift. earliest start time 6:30am/9:30)

Self-Motivator, willingness to ask questions and questionis something is wrong.

ideal candidate has 2 or 3: FT-IR, UV, Moisture contentvia Karl Fischer, and other wet chemistry analysis - pH and limit testing onbench.

Compendial Testing - nice to have

Lab is full service - 70-75% in lab

2 interview rounds: 1st virtual, 2nd on-site

Your Role:

The Quality Control department carries out releasetesting for raw materials, manufactured good, purchased materials forrepackaging, and packaged good for sale. The department is made of ananalytical Chemistry lab and Microbiology lab. In this position, analyticalchemistry testing will be performed against a multitude of analyticalspecifications that would show the material either meets or does not meetrequirements, which can include wet chemistry testing and/or instrumentalanalysis.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

An individual that is detailed oriented, has goodcommunication skills, and is organized. Included in communication skills is theability to ask questions and report findings/issues to senior analysts, teamleads, supervision, or management when necessary. Within this role, being ableto read and execute a variety of test methods put in place by the site,compendia, or customers is essential for success.

Work closely with department supervisor and Team Leads toensure that departmental tasks are completed on time.

Follow all safety requirements and refer to MSDS for PPEand other safety guidance.

Practice proper laboratory safety and waste disposal.

Perform testing per documented procedure.

Able to recognize out-of-spec (OOS) results and initiateOOS investigation.

Pays attention to detail and brings issues to TeamLead(s) or Supervisors attention.

Has the ability to take on smaller projects/reoccurringtasks with minimal oversight.

Demonstrate Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and DataIntegrity Principles.

Knowledge of the chemistry and instrumentation for thefollowing analysis: FT-IR, pH, Moisture content via Karl Fischer, and other wetchemistry analysis.

Preferred Experience:

Executing laboratory investigations

Compendial testing: USP, EP, JP

Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills.

Solution focused when faced with any problems orsetbacks.

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience:

Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Life Science field witha minimum 2 years laboratory experience (academic or industry). -OR-

Associate degree in Chemistry or other Life Science fieldwith a minimum of 3 years experience outside of academic laboratories.

Travel Requirements:

N/A.

Employment Testing Requirements:

Pre/Annual-employment screening/medical monitoring.

Pass background check, drug/alcohol screen.

Physically/medically cleared to wear a respirator.

Physical Requirements:

The ability to stand for long periods of time.

The ability to lift 25 lbs.
