Quality Control Inspector

Full-Time, Permanent position

Wichita, Kansas; Onsite

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct hidden damage inspections and ensure all paperwork aligns with engineering specifications, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and quality control standards.
  • Perform aircraft service inspections in accordance with federal aviation regulations and guidelines.
  • Assist other inspectors in their duties based on your area(s) of qualification.
  • Carry out preliminary inspections upon aircraft arrival before maintenance begins.
  • Oversee maintenance, repairs, and alterations performed by Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, ensuring corrective actions are completed properly.
  • Inspect flight control systems, fuel panels, final component installations, and engine installations, providing approvals where applicable.
  • Train, mentor, and coach employees in performance standards and inspection techniques.
  • Provide customers with requested data, ensuring adherence to all work requirements and quality leadership coordination.
  • Perform conformity inspections of engineering documents to ensure adherence to current designs and update maintenance manuals as needed.
  • Conduct aircraft weighing using a pre-weight checklist and initiate reports and requests when required.
  • Research and review technical data and drawings as part of the inspection process.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience
  • 2-3 years of inspection experience (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering documents and maintenance manuals.
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or Repairman Certificate is required.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP is helpful.
  • Familiarity with business aircraft inspection programs, including final close-out procedures, engine installations, and in-process inspections.
  • Thorough knowledge of business aircraft maintenance, preventative maintenance, and modifications as they relate to inspection approvals.
  • Familiarity with Repair Station/Quality Control manuals and standards.
