Position DescriptionAt a GlanceLegrand has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector to join the Data, Power & Control Division in Farmingdale, NY. We have two openings, one for first shift (7:00-3:30pm EST) and one for second shift (3:30 - midnight EST). This role is responsible for ensuring that the final product is functionally and aesthetically compliant according to customer specifications, documenting non-conformances, and maintaining related records.Main Job Duties:
  • Perform first-article inspection for sheet metal, welded and painted parts
  • Ensure conformance to all specifications, customer requirements and company practices
  • Conduct a thorough visual inspection of final products to identify defects or deviations from quality standards and customer specifications
  • Utilize measuring tools and equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy
  • Assure products meet specifications as defined by spec sheets, bill of materials, and AQL
  • Audit production lines to document/record key production parameters
  • Perform pallet inspections to ensure proper packaging before release for shipping
  • Complete final inspection reports
  • Ensure accuracy and organize inspection documentation as required in the database
  • Perform touch-ups as necessary
  • Complete assigned work within a given timeframe and according to specifications
  • Follow instructions as provided by the supervisor
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations and support safety policies and improvements
  • Cooperate with other employees in the department to maintain a safe working environment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area
  • Other duties as assigned
QualificationsEducation: High School diploma or equivalent is required Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
  • Ability to read and interpret purchase orders, spec sheets and bill of materials is required
  • Basic understanding of sheet metal, welding and machining processes is required
  • Previous experience reading engineering blueprint required
  • Ability to use a Caliper and basic measuring tools for quality assurance
  • Basic understanding of ISO requirements is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills are required
  • Meticulous attention to details is required
  • Ability to work overtime when required
  • Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and/or walk for duration of shift is required
  • Ability to read, hear, speak, kneel, bend and use a step ladder or stool is required
  • Capable of lifting 45 pounds is required
  • Capable of working in a manufacturing environment is required
