Job Location : Bellingham,WA, USA
This individual is responsible for assisting the QA/QC Site Manager with the field operations of the Quality Control Department. Coordinates with the Superintendent, General foreman, Foreman daily to ensure they are informed of the NDE and or Inspections requirements to ensure inspection witness/hold point are not missed. Coordinates daily with the client QA/QC group any necessary Inspections requiring their witness; relay to QA/QC Site Manager. This is a temporary position, ranging from 4-6 months.
Documenting and Reporting:
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with the development of QA/QC documents for, but not limited to:
* Civil and Underground
* Structural Steel
* Pumps
* Pressure vessels
* Piping
* Grouting
* Painting
* Steam/ Electrical Tracing
* Insulation
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with the insertion of all shop fabricated components QA/QC documents into the Field QC documents for turnover to the client.
* Must accompany the field hydrostatic test documents.
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with development of Weld Maps and Weld Logs for accurate recording of work.
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with identifying the required NDE or PWHT from the Client requirements (EWR's).
* Go out locate and flag for the contractor.
* Acquire and organize NDE reports.
* Follow up with corrected reports from NDE or PWHT Contractors when necessary
* Assist in retrieving digital reports from Subs who use them for file storage
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with the Development of ASME Code packages for any work on pressure vessels, power piping, or boiler.
* Review with QA/QC Site Manager
* Process RFI's as needed for Site QA/QC Manager - update files
* Distribute among QA/QC group onsite
* Help Track progress and update wallpaper and/ or spool status log
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with the procurement, maintenance of MTR/COC records, and the issuing of all Alloy filler materials for welding.
Quality Control Procedures and Testing:
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager in performing welder testing.
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with Visual inspections of completed welds.
* Structural
* Piping
* Other-Equipment
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with the preparation and Witnessing of Hydrostatic testing of completed components.
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with field verifying the travelers are followed and adhered to for any work on pressure vessels, power piping, or boiler.
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with witnessing of torquing and sign off of all critical flanges.
* Assist the QA/QC Site Manager with Maintaining the Measuring and Testing Equipment MT&E equipment calibrations and log.
* Test gauges
* Torque wrenches & Hi-torq equipment
* Infrared Thermometers
* Gas testing monitors for welding
Quality Assurance:
* Assists QA/QC Site Manager in assuring Subcontractors are working in compliance with the Scope of work, client Specifications, applicable code, and Harris procedures (when subcontracted to Harris).
* Assists QA/QC Site Manager with performing audit on Subcontractors to ensure they are following job specifications in accordance with the scope of work.
Quality Control:
* Coordinate the testing and inspection activities of any independent testing and inspection agencies to ensure that all necessary testing and inspections are properly and consistently performed.
* Partner with QA/QC teams from General Contractor and Subcontractors to ensure Harris Quality Controls/ Clients procedures are being adhered to.
Other Duties as Assigned:
* Assumes responsibilities of Site when the QA/QC Site Manager is offsite or on vacation.
* Create and update weld mapping and weld logs for tracking purposes-when needed.
* Prepare release forms for painting, trace, and insultation-track and facilitate when needed.
What we're looking for in you:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
* 5+ years of experience in quality control or quality assurance.
* 5+ years of in depth understanding or quality control procedures and relevant legal standards.
* Qualification of a valid AWS QC1 CWI or API 570.

Harris Compensation
Pay Range: $45.27 - $67.91 per hour
The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
