Key Responsibilities:Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections of finished metal components and in-process materials utilizing precision measurement tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauge blocks. - Perform testing methods to identify material properties and potential defects and ensure compliance with industry standards. - Execute routine audits of processes and products, documenting findings and ensuring conformity to specifications.Documentation: - Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and results in compliance with company policies and standards. - Generate comprehensive inspection reports outlining findings, non-conformities, and recommendations for corrective actions. - Utilize quality management software to track inspection data and facilitate reporting to management.Process Evaluation: Monitor production processes continuously to ensure quality control measures are effectively implemented at every stage, from material selection to final assembly. - Collaborate closely with production teams to identify deviations from established protocols and suggest modifications to enhance quality and efficiency.Technical Support: - Provide training and support to production personnel on best practices in quality assurance, emphasizing the importance of quality at every production level. - Assist in troubleshooting quality-related issues by conducting root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Compliance: - Ensure all operations comply with relevant industry standards and regulations, including ISO 9001 and OSHA safety standards, to uphold quality and safety expectations. - Participate actively in internal and external audits, preparing documentation and presenting findings to auditors as needed.Continuous Improvement: - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by participating in quality improvement teams, analyzing data trends, and implementing new processes that enhance product quality. - Collect and analyze data for identifying recurring defects, facilitating discussions on effective solutions with engineering and production teams.Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in quality control, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred.- A minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control within the metal forming or broader manufacturing environment, with specific knowledge of metal stamping processes.- Proficient in using and calibrating measurement tools and quality assurance equipment.- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and specifications.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills allow effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Physical Requirements:- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs as part of routine inspection and testing procedures.- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise and varying temperatures.Ascendo is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), national origin, political affiliation, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, genetic information, age, parental status, military service or any other characteristic protected by federal, stateAscendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, and we welcome and celebrate diversity.
