Quality Control Lab Tech - Yoh : Job Details

QC Lab Technician needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh Scientific's client located in Clinton, IA.This position is for a major food processing company and is looking for candidates with a scientific background and is familiar with GMP/ GLP. Title: QC Lab TechnicianLocation: Clinton, IADuration: one year assignment, possible extension but not a guaranteePay Rate: $21/hourSchedule: Must be able to work rotating shifts including both days and overnights, as well as working weekends. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine analytical chemistry tests in an accurate and timely manner. Be responsible for conducting routine quality control (QC) testing and recordkeeping in a safe, accurate and orderly manner. Conduct various wet chemical and instrumental analyses of samples for process control and final QC inspection. Ensure the accuracy of finished product analysis.Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate's degree in science preferred; minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous science background with experience with analytical testing and lab instrumentation
• Familiar with GMP/GLP (Good Manufacturing/Laboratory Practices)
• Understanding of wet chemistry techniques
• The willingness and ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift including nights, weekends, holidays and on-call coverage.
• Actively participate in training efforts and safety initiatives
• Must have the ability to relocate equipment and supplies. Must have the ability to walk long distances. Involves standing for long periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders. Lifting to 50 lbs.
• All other duties as directed and appropriate for the purposes of the site.
