Job Title: Quality Control Lab TechnicianJob DescriptionOur client is a global leader in the supply of magnet wire, which involves applying an electrically insulating varnish or enamel to aluminum or copper wire used in electrical machinery. This process typically occurs in large plants that draw and insulate the wire before selling it to electrical equipment manufacturers. The individual in this role will be part of the magnet wire testing laboratory.Responsibilities
  • Conduct quality and laboratory tests on magnet wire to ensure it meets quality specifications, supports investigations, design proposals, R&D improvements, and performance evaluations.
  • Perform testing on QA and experimental runs, action requests, and sample orders.
  • Inspect and analyze raw materials and chemical products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Inspect goods and products to ensure they comply with quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct client audits and assist with customer complaint investigations related to quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, as well as federal and state regulations.
  • Learn and understand the quality documentation systems of top customers.
  • Report any quality anomalies to the supervisor.
  • Create and maintain company inspection reports.
  • Collate test data and draft quality reports.
  • Interact with customer-specific portals to upload data and address production volume needs.
  • Ensure that test equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; some college (associate's degree) preferred.
  • 1+ years of GMP experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control lab technician roles.
  • 2+ years of experience with basic laboratory techniques.
  • Strong experience with Excel and quality management systems.

Work EnvironmentThe position is a first shift role, working from 8 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday to Saturday, with a potential Sunday to Thursday schedule if needed. This is an opportunity for degreed or non-degreed candidates to gain hands-on quality lab experience, with skills gained in ISO, QS, TS, and GMP. The role includes hands-on training, opportunities for growth within the organization, and working within multiple groups/departments across engineering and sciences. The environment includes small cohesive teams, one-on-one training, and opportunities to learn from experienced lab technicians.
