Job Description :

Our client is a global leader within flavors and ingredients for the food and beverage industries they are seeking a Quality Control Manager for their facility in New Jersey to oversee quality control from end to end and drive a culture of excellence within the QC team.

The Role

  • Manage and control the QC operation including sensory, analytical and micro controls, with full responsibility to achieve short- and medium-term objectives set by the Quality function. Manage, evaluate and develop the QC team.
  • Provide necessary Team Leadership to ensure defined Quality Control processes are functioning as designed.
  • Report KPIs to support achievements of QC objectives.
  • Ensure successful execution of the key QC projects agreed with plant management that will enable the necessary changes to meet business requirements.
  • Provide supervision for team activities, ensuring all analyst daily work is performed through the Global Quality Control procedure to complete all testing and final Quality decisions on Quality Control Samples.
  • Customer complaint support where analytical and sensory expertise is required.
  • Detect, manage and report product failures, purchased RM rejections vs. established specification.
  • Ensure the quality control equipment calibration with defined frequency.
  • Provide Quality Control Support to Nonconformance and Non-routine Quality Control samples.

The Requirements

  • BSc in scientific related field, such as biochemistry, chemistry, food industry OR relevant similar several years' experience in quality control, with thorough knowledge of flavors, raw materials, microbiology, sensory).
  • Excellent communication skills, able to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Rigorous and data-driven, able to make decision autonomously and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced IT skills (MS Office suite, LIMS, SAP, etc.)
  • Technically proficient/ knowledgeable in the following chemical procedures and physical measurements (wet chemistry): GC, GCMS, HPLC, water content, optical rotation and other standard tests.
  • Relevant people management experience with strong mental agility.
