Our Eau Claire plant is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to plan, direct, coordinate, monitor, and execute activities related to ensuring the quality of structural steel fabrication.The ideal candidate will have a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification. What you will do:
  • Manage established quality program to ensure that the fabricated steel will fit as planned, meets customer specifications, & delivery schedules.
  • Work closely with DOT Inspectors to schedule required inspection, ensure that appropriate documentation is completed & filed in a timely manner.
  • Perform inspection of welds, dimensions, materials, fasteners, and coatings
  • Supervise QC Inspectors (6-8 direct reports)
  • Overall management of the quality function.
  • Manage welder certification program, ensure welders qualified per owner's requirements, and keep appropriate records.

Job DetailsBachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related fieldCertified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificationMinimum 5 years experience leading a quality control function with welding in a heavy manufacturing environmentNACE or SSPC Level I paint certification, or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hireUT/MT/VT level II certifications, preferredKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniquesStrong computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing statistical analysis)Good understanding of blueprints & shop drawingsKnowledge of structural steel fabrication, coatings, application, and non-destructive testing methodsInterested in hearing more?
