We're looking for a Quality Control Manager who has a thorough knowledge and understanding of mortgage guidelines, including FHA, FHLMC, FNMA, USDA, and VA. Our ideal candidate not only knows the guidelines but is also proactive and works diligently to get loan defects resolved. You'll be our QC expert who reviews files, builds and maintains working relationships with our vendors, and identifies areas of weakness and high risk.

Summary:

As Quality Control Manager, you'll report to the Chief Operating Officer and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day Quality Control (QC) procedures. Duties will include audits, reporting, reviewing investor guidelines, reviewing state guidelines, resolving loan defects, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, state, and federal guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify loan samples for discretionary and random audits
  • Establish and nurture effective working relationships with vendors to resolve issues, pinpoint areas of weakness or high risk, and identify the underlying causes of deficiencies.
  • Create and implement action plans to address defects and mitigate risks.
  • Re-underwrite loan files based on AUS findings or manual loan approvals.
  • Assess appraisal reports for value acceptance, content, and accuracy.
  • Verify that re-verification activities were completed and confirm the accuracy of the information used by the client to approve and close the loan.
  • Ensure consistency between Pre-Close and Post-Close results and report any discrepancies.
  • Perform all other duties as needed.

Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong commitment to professional ethics and integrity.
  • Highly organized and detail-focused.
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional skills in identifying issues and solving problems.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Quick to learn audit processes and various systems and applications, retaining key information for daily tasks.
  • Proficient in using Encompass LOS.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Over 3 years of QC experience with FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, FHLMC, and other financial services organizations.
  • Familiarity with federal and state regulations impacting mortgage servicing, such as TILA, ECOA, FCRA, RESPA, the Fair Housing Act, the Homeowners Protection Act, and predatory lending laws.
  • Strong understanding of investor and insurer requirements.
  • Proficient in using TENA.
