Position: Quality Control Manager (CQM-C)

Duration: 12 Month Contract (likely to get extended)

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Gulfport, MS

Pay Rate: $40-50/hr

Interview Process: 1 interview --> hire!

Must Haves:

  • Have at least five years proven Quality Control management experience in the construction industry, preferably with knowledge of relevant construction practices and standards.
  • Completion of the USACE-approved Construction Quality Management for Contractors course and passing the final exam to obtain the CQM-C certificate.
  • This is provided through the Army Corps of Engineering
  • Complete a 30-hour OSHA Construction safety class or equivalent.
  • Complete current First Aid/CPR/AED training.
  • Consultant will need to be able to pass a bgc/dt so they can get a base pass
  • A strong understanding of quality control methodologies, including inspection techniques, documentation procedures, and non-conformance reporting.
  • Ability to lead and manage a quality control team, ensuring adherence to contract specifications and project quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills to clearly convey quality concerns to contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and relevant industry standards.

Day-to-Day:

Project consultant will contribute to: Line construction project doing overhead to underground cable construction

  • Perform daily site inspections to verify that construction activities are adhering to contract requirements and specifications.
  • Review contractor submittals like material test reports, shop drawings, and quality control plans to ensure compliance.
  • Identify and document quality deficiencies, non-conformance issues, and potential problems during construction.
  • Communicate quality concerns to the contractor and requesting corrective actions.
  • Maintain detailed daily inspection reports, documenting observations, corrective actions taken, and non-compliance issues.
  • Prepare and submit regular quality control reports to the government quality assurance representative.
  • Maintain records of testing and inspection results, including documentation of material certifications.
