Job Description :
Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Pre-Operational Inspections to verify equipment, utensils, and production areas meet food safety standards before startup.
  • Identify and document sanitation deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Work closely with Operations, Sanitation, and USDA Inspectors to clear the plant for production.
  • Prioritize tasks efficiently to balance Pre-Op Inspections, USDA checks, and production startup timelines.
  • Verify and sign off on Pre-Op inspection records, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate inspection results and any delays to Production and Quality leadership.
  • Assist with USDA inspections, addressing concerns while ensuring compliance.
  • Monitor plant conditions before startup, ensuring all areas remain compliant with food safety standards.
  • On non-Pre-Op days, perform standard Quality Control checks, including product verification, packaging integrity, and in-process audits.
  • Collect and submit product and environmental samples for testing.
Qualifications:
  • Six months of experience in Quality Assurance, food safety, or sanitation preferred.
  • HACCP certification is a plus (training provided if not certified).
  • Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP, BRC standards, and Pre-Op Inspection procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize sanitation deficiencies, equipment issues, and food safety hazards.
  • Ability to review documentation accurately and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills to document findings and collaborate with departments.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-risk food production environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach for extended periods.
  • Must regularly lift up to 35 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent exposure to wet, humid, hot, and cold conditions.
  • Work in areas with moving mechanical parts and sanitation chemicals, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
Work Environment:
  • Fast-paced food manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels.
  • Regular interaction with Sanitation, Production, and Maintenance teams during Pre-Op inspections.
  • Exposure to mechanical equipment, high-pressure washdowns, and cleaning chemicals.
